The Hague | April 29-May 2, 2019

Convened in the run-up to the United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development Goal 16 (Just, Peaceful, and Inclusive Societies), the World Justice Forum VI will make important contributions to the justice agenda. From April 29-May 2, 2019, join us at the World Justice Forum VI in The Hague, The Netherlands to:

  • Learn about leading-edge research and original data that make the case for justice as critical to sustainable development;
  • Showcase successful approaches to increasing access to justice;
  • Identify concrete areas for multi-sectoral mobilization and collaboration on access to justice; and
  • Galvanize commitments to action on increasing access to justice by government, private, and civil society actors.

There is growing recognition that access to justice is foundational to economic and social development, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals reflect this, particularly in Goal 16 but also integrated throughout the Goals. 2019 will be an important year for advancing this agenda, with the High Level Political Forum set to address Goal 16 in July and the first quadrennial leaders’ summit on the Goals set for September. Taking advantage of this political moment requires a coordinated effort to develop shared understanding of why justice is important; examples of what works; platforms for publicizing commitments to action; and methodologies for measuring progress.

The World Justice Project is delighted to announce our Co-Producing Partners for the 2019 Forum: Bingham Centre for the Rule of Law; HiiL; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands; Open Society Justice Initiative; Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD); and the Pathfinders for Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies.

Additional details about the World Justice Forum VI agenda and registration will be posted here as information becomes available. For inquires related to the World Justice Forum, please contact forum@worldjusticeproject.org.

About the World Justice Forum

The World Justice Forum is the premier international event for the rule of law. During this week-long convening, global and community leaders from an array of sectors and interests share insights, explore strategies, and develop solutions for advancing equity, opportunity, and peace through the rule of law. The World Justice Forum provides a central opportunity to move the conversation forward on difficult topics; identify the people who should be involved; seed practical action; plan coherent strategies and work plans; and build momentum for a global movement to advance rule of law.
