Founded in 1993, it aims to improve the environment of Tanzania through the design and implementation of environmentally oriented projects, and through strengthening local capacity in human resource development. It is based in Dar es Salaam and operates throughout the country.
PCW is recognized as the government authority that champions women's empowerment and gender equality. The PCW acts as a catalyst for gender mainstreaming, authority on womens concerns, and lead advocate of womens empowerment, gender equity, and gender equality in the country.
Formed by a group of graduates from the Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies at the University of Nairobi. Among their initiatives is the Know Your World, a program that works to advance the global peace and security agenda through education and the promotion of people to people connections.
Founded in 1959, it is dedicated to empowering women and girls in Tanzania and promoting a fully inclusive world where justice, peace and security, freedom, human dignity, good governance, health for all, and care for the environment are promoted and sustained through women's leadership.
Works to develop research, monitor and implement projects related to police brutality, security, the criminal system, drug policy and conflict mediation to reduce criminality and support imporved public management of security issues.
It aspires to achieve a citizenry that is conscious of the value of social equity and recognizes the importance of human development for the creation of a prosperous society.
