Formed by a group of graduates from the Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies at the University of Nairobi. Among their initiatives is the Know Your World, a program that works to advance the global peace and security agenda through education and the promotion of people to people connections.
Under Executive Order (EO) 292, the DOJ is the government's principal law agency. As such, the DOJ serves as the government's prosecution arm and administers the government's criminal justice system by investigating crimes, prosecuting offenders and overseeing the correctional system.

Works to monitor and investigate places of detention, along with investigating any allegations of torture or mistreatement.
