It is an initiative of the Canadian Labour Congress to promote fundamental rights and equality for migrants, refugees, indigenous women, and LGBTQ persons. It also advocates for stronger public pensions, safer workplaces, and better jobs for all Canadians.
It aims to empower the Ghanaian citizenry to achieve democracy, education, and economic freedom by transforming conflict and violence for the advancement of peace and sustainable development. It advocates for peaceful elections, while also, providing health services for women in deprived or violent communities, and food security programs.

It is comprised of Bolivian journalists and cyberactivists that encourage public accountability and transparency in the government through initiatives such as DataBo, Jaqui Aru, and the Platform for Journalists and Activists.
It was founded in 2007 and aims to improve the conditions for female journalists, while also advocating for the rights of all women in Sierra Leone. It is a member of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists, and has approximately 200 members distributed throughout the country.
