It is a grassroots organization whose mission is to contribute to the establishment of peace in Japan and the world. It promotes the self-determination of ethnic groups, the integrity of Article 9 of the Constitution, and the peaceful resolution of international conflicts.
It promotes the conservation and management of natural resources for sustainable development through biological research, policy advocacy, educational campaigns, and partnerships with local conservation organizations.

CPAU is a research and peace-building organization. It has been working to support peacebuilding efforts through education, working with local informal justice platforms, advocacy, civic engagement, and women empowerment.
Officially registered in 2016 with the assistance of the International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute (IBAHRI), it is the first national professional organization of lawyers in the country. Its mission is to build the capacity of the legal profession and to promote and protect the rights of the people in Myanmar.
Initially established by the relatives of prisoners following the 1980 coup, IHD works on abolishing death penalty and DGM (State Security Court) and torture. IHD works on freedom of expression, finding disappeared persons, collects signatures for persons that expelled from their positions, and demands equal opportunities for disabled persons.
