The Human Rights Center for the Assistance of Prisoners (HRCAP) was established in 1997 as a non-political, non-profit civil company. It aims to provide legal assistance to prisoners and to advocate for the reform of prisons so that they become places of correction and rehabilitation.
Founded in 1983, and named after the indigenous Aymara leader, the Center works to protect women's rights and provides access to justice through legal and psychological assistance. It also offers workshops and training for economic empowerment, and encourages women's political participation by supporting local initiatives and grassroots organizations.
Since 2012, IBJ has developed training materials for justice sector stakeholders and Myanmar lawyers. Their justice centers are staffed with highly skilled lawyers and paralegals who provide free legal advice and representation for vulnerable individuals.

They work utilizing an interdisciplinary approach that considers the social and economic dimensions of health. Ebola Survivor Corps is their main initiative in Sierra Leone.
