Established in 2002, HNLAC advances human rights by providing free legal aid to individuals at risk of discrimination and social exclusion, such as victims of domestic violence and human trafficking, foreigners, asylum seekers, stateless persons, and refugees. It undertakes legal interventions and advocacy activities, while pursuing research and educational projects.
CRS was founded in The Gambia in 1964. Their work encompasses urban and rural capacity building, agricultural development, microfinance, health and nutrition, malaria control, adult literacy and numeracy skills programs, and Aids/HIV advisory.

Freeland's programs include support for law enforcement agencies through training and tip-offs, support to vulnerable communities with the introduction of alternative livelihoods, and public education through mass media campaigns and grassroots outreach.
