It is a medical aid organization who provides quality basic healthcare services to the underprivileged through a network of clinics. Their areas of work include HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, malnutrition, and family planning services.
Founded in 1994, it protects fundamental human rights in Hungary. It monitors legislation, pursues strategic litigation, and provides free legal aid assistance. Initially established by the relatives of prisoners following the 1980 coup, IHD works on abolishing death penalty and DGM (State Security Court) and torture. IHD works on freedom of expression, finding disappeared persons, collects signatures for persons that expelled from their positions, and demands equal opportunities for disabled persons.
