The Hague is the international city of peace and justice. Although it is the third largest city in the Netherlands, it retains an easy-going yet vibrant ambience. The Hague offers visitors a combination of the seaside and contemporary city life against an historic backdrop. Distances are easily crossed; the city boasts an extensive public transport system and the beach is but 10 minutes from the city centre by tram or bicycle.

Not only is the Hague synonymous with international law, peace, and diplomacy – housing hundreds of international courts, organizations, embassies and consulates as well as the Dutch seat of government – but it also boasts an edifying selection of art, culture, and entertainment. See Vermeer’s ‘Girl with the Pearl Earring’ at the Mauritshuis, attend a performance by The Hague Philharmonic Orchestra or the Dutch Dance Theatre, or enjoy the beach and the nightlife of Scheveningen. The diversity and versatility of The Hague makes it a city for everyone to enjoy discovering.
