Founded in 2001, Hong Kong Unison promotes racial equality and the elimination of all forms of racial discrimination in Hong Kong. It promotes social and cultural change so that all ethnic minority residents of Hong Kong have equal opportunities and access to public services and information.

It provides independent and comprehensive analysis, and monitors and reports on developments related to judicial independence, press and academic freedoms, and political prisoners, to name a few.
