At the World Justice Forum IV, top Islamic scholars Dr. Bawa Jain, Secretary-General of the World Council of Religious Leaders, Professor Mahmoud Hekmatnia of the Islamic Research Institute for Culture & Thought (Iran), Mr. Bahige Mulla Huech of Spain, and Professor Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq of the International Islamic University (Pakistan) were joined by Deputy Speaker of the Tunisian National Constituent Assembly Ms. Mehrezia Labidi-Maiza in a discussion focusing on the intersections between Sharia law and secular constitutional law, and how contradictions can be reconciled.

Further discussion addressed questions such as whether Sharia provisions are employable at lower court and informal levels, if Sharia can be reconciled with a constitution containing an establishment clause, and whether Sharia law could replace constitutional law in countries with rapidly growing Muslim populations.
