Estefany is passionate about environmental issues. She holds a Master's in Political Sociology from the Research Institute Dr. José María Luis Mora in Mexico City. Her thesis focused on social movements and infrastructure projects in natural protected areas (NPAs) in Baja California Sur. She collaborated with Pronatura Noroeste A. C. and investigated various NPAs in northwestern Mexico. She worked with many communities and sectors to assess the effectiveness of NPAs and contributed to the measurement of environmental governance in these areas. She has collaborated as a tutor in the Disasters and Climate Change certificate program at the Mora Institute. Recently, she obtained a certificate in Environmental Governance from the Sustainable Mexico organization and a certificate in Negotiation, Mediation and Construction of Agreements from the Center for Research and Teaching in Economics (CIDE). Estefany's interests are in social development, care of the environment, and gender perspective.
