AnaCárdenas
Director of Justice Projects, Mexico
Ana Cárdenas joined the World Justice Project in autumn of 2019.
She is an experienced researcher in social-legal studies and public policy on a wide diversity of issues, ranging from criminal justice policies, judicial studies and transparency, to electoral issues.
Before joining WJP, Ana co-coordinated the Open Justice and Research Unit of Justice Reyes Rodríguez Mondragón at the Electoral High Court of the Federal Judiciary where she conducted analyses on the judiciary and research notes used for drafting decisions and dissenting opinions. Prior to that she worked as an Associate Researcher for México Evalúa think tank conducting research on policing.
Ana holds a PhD. from King’s College London where the research focused on the Federal judiciary and the so called war on organized crime; a MsC in Criminal Justice Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a B.A. in Law from the Center for Economic Research and Teaching (CIDE).
