Justice Researcher

Alfredo Ramirez joined the World Justice Project (WJP) in 2024. He is a lawyer and researcher with expertise in criminal justice, human rights, and the rule of law.

Before joining WJP, Mr. Ramirez served as a human rights defender at the Human Rights Commission of Mexico City. He has collaborated with organizations such as the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the Justice in Mexico program at the University of San Diego. Mr. Ramirez also practiced law at Banco Santander Mexico and the law firm Caballero Villalpando Abogados.

He holds a master’s degree from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), where his thesis analyzed the impact of poverty on criminal proceedings in the Mexican justice system. Mr. Ramirez also earned a specialization in Criminal Law and a B.A. in Law from UNAM.
