Diego joined the World Justice Project team in June 2025 as an Access to Justice Research Intern. He supports research on people-centered justice, focusing on ways to strengthen the rule of law and improve access to justice mechanisms around the world.
Prior to joining WJP, he served in the Congress of Nuevo León, Mexico, as a policy advisor and was appointed by the Legislature as chief of staff for the Congressional Committee on Justice and Public Security. By engaging citizens, authorities, and lawmakers in policymaking, he helped achieve significant reforms in law enforcement, access to justice, and the defense of human rights.
Diego graduated summa cum laude from Tec de Monterrey with a bachelor’s degree in law and studied at Yale University as a visiting student. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in business administration at the Stanford Graduate School of Business as a Knight-Hennessy Scholar and a master’s degree in public administration at the Harvard Kennedy School as a Fulbright–Garcia Robles Scholar.
Outside of work, he’s passionate about fútbol and believes deeply in the power of sports to build community and promote social change.
