On July 9, 2013, the World Justice Forum IV opened to a dynamic multidisciplinary panel featuring leaders from across disciplines, regions, and generations. Discussants spoke about how the rule of law serves as the foundation of functional societies, and its role in safeguarding and expanding human dignity for all. 

Moderated by Maria Livanos Cattaui, Former Secretary-General, International Chamber of Commerce, speakers included Anthony Kennedy, Associate Justice, Supreme Court of the United States;  Thabo Makgoba, Archbishop of Cape Town, South Africa; Argentine Santiago Siri, Founder & Chief Innovator, Grupo 42; Peter Rees QC, Legal Director, Royal Dutch Shell plc (The Netherlands); and Dr. Sakena Yacoobi, Founder & Executive Director, Afghan Institute of Learning (Afghanistan).
