Nancy Ward is Vice President of the World Justice Project (WJP), following more than a decade as a founding staff member of the organization. As Chief Engagement Officer from 2011-2019, Ms. Ward held primary responsibility for the organization’s global network of change agents, convenings, and programs. WJP’s engagement initiatives, including the World Justice Forum, focus on developing a higher level of awareness about rule of law challenges around the world and incubating practical programs at the community level to mitigate them. From 2004 to 2008, Ms. Ward worked with WJP Founder William H. Neukom at the global law firm of K&L Gates. A professional project manager with over 25 years of experience in the international peace and development sector, she has also worked for the United Nations Foundation, the Carnegie Commission on Preventing Deadly Conflict, and Women in International Security. Ms. Ward resides in Seattle, where she is a member of the Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee of Seattle Repertory Theater (2012-present), and is a Trustee of the University of the South. She serves on the Development Strategy Committee of KEXP (May 2013-present) and was a past Trustee and President of the Associates Program of ArtsFund. She has a B.A. in International Relations from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee.
