Dr. Mrs. Nemata Majeks-Walker is a dynamic consultant and facilitator/trainer who has worked in gender, leadership, advocacy and politics since 1999. She has worked in Sierra Leone, the UK, the USA, Pakistan, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, the Gambia and Liberia with women politicians, civil society activists, youths and members of the media. She is an experienced campaigner and lobbyist on women's issues. On completion of her PhD, she served as an education officer for the Inner London Education Authority, Wandsworth, Hackney, Brent, Lewisham, Lambeth and Sutton boroughs in England. After this, she acquired an international consultancy - Adviser in English and Communications Skills - for the then Overseas Development Administration (ODA), now Department For International Development on contract to the Government of Ghana. She was part of the team that established the Distance Learning In Service Education and Training course for teachers at the University College of Education in Winneba.
Nemata later worked as an education consultant for PLAN International, Sierra Leone where she was responsible for country strategic planning, project cycle management and establishing various networks of community-based organisations.
