What is a Donor-Advised Fund?

A donor-advised fund (DAF) functions much like a charitable savings account, allowing you to manage your giving efficiently. By contributing to a DAF, you receive an immediate tax benefit and gain the flexibility to support the World Justice Project (WJP) and other causes over time.

Through a DAF, you can often contribute assets—such as appreciated securities or complex investments—that WJP might not be able to accept as direct gifts.

How to Give via your DAF

Providing a grant through your donor-advised fund is a seamless process. If you already have an account with a charitable sponsor or financial institution, you can recommend a grant to WJP today.

Can’t find your institution? Please reach out to us at [email protected] so we can assist you.

Why Choose a DAF to Support WJP?

  • Strategic Impact: Turn your investment portfolio into a powerful tool for advancing justice and transparency worldwide.
  • Tax Efficiency: Donating stock through a DAF eliminates capital gains taxes, potentially increasing the total amount available for your charitable goals.
  • Sustainable Advocacy: You can set up recurring grants, providing WJP with the steady, reliable funding necessary to monitor and protect the rule of law year-round.
  • Responsive Giving: A DAF allows you to quickly deploy resources to support our work when civic spaces or justice systems face urgent threats.

Because individual financial situations vary, we recommend consulting with your financial advisor or community foundation when establishing or managing a DAF.

DAF funds are easy to give, simply pick “Donor Advised Fund” after the input of your address in the donate widget:

Other Ways to Defend the Rule of Law

Beyond DAFs, there are several meaningful ways to invest in WJP’s mission:

  • Tribute Gifts: Make a tax-deductible contribution in honor or memory of an individual who shared a passion for justice.
  • The William H. Neukom Rule of Law Fund: Support the long-term legacy of our founder through this dedicated fund.
  • Employer Matching: Many companies will match your gift, doubling your personal impact on our global programs.
