The World Justice Forum 2019 was an important milestone for building a worldwide community dedicated to realizing justice for all. As a meeting place for governmental and non-governmental actors, private sector leaders, and the donor community, the Forum addressed principal challenges to delivering justice and provided space for advancing concrete solutions. Each day of World Justice Forum 2019 explored a separate topic: Monday "Defined the Opportunity" for the justice movement in 2019 and beyond. Tuesday’s program "Showcased What Works." On Wednesday, participants explored "Building the Movement." The final day of the Forum featured "Commitments to Justice."

Committing to Justice
On the opening day of World Justice Forum 2019, the launch of the Justice for All report revealed new data (as featured in World Justice Project's Measuring the Justice Gap report) showing that 5 billion people have unmet justice needs globally. This includes people who cannot obtain justice for everyday problems, people who are excluded from the opportunity the law provides, and people who live in extreme conditions of injustice. The launch of the report sparked new thinking on the opportunity for a people-centered approach and the need for global action to close the justice gap.
In response, governments, organizations, and individuals joined in showcasing their justice initiatives and Commitments to Justice at the conclusion of the World Justice Forum. These declarations of further action to accelerate implementation of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16 set the pace for outcomes that will feed directly into the UN High Level Political Forum on SDG 16 in July and the UN Summit on the SDGs in September.
Showcasing What Works
The World Justice Forum: Realizing Justice for All showcased practical solutions to addressing and closing the justice gap. From interactive working sessions to plenaries highlighting solutions to increasing access to justice to fast pitch presentations from World Justice Challenge finalists, participants gained knowledge and insight from multi-sector actors making an impact.
The 2019 World Justice Challenge competition invited organizations and institutions throughout the world to highlight effective projects aimed at increasing access to justice. On the final day of the World Justice Forum, the WJP was pleased to announce five winners out of 30 finalists and over 250 submissions.
Building the Movement
As the premier international event for the rule of law, the World Justice Forum convened governmental and non-governmental actors, private sector leaders, and members of the donor community from more than 70 countries and 300+ organizations worldwide—all focused on the promise of realizing justice for all. In the coming days and weeks you will find video highlights, photos, interviews, podcasts, and more posted here, and on our social media at #WJForum.
We are pleased to share the invaluable information and resources produced by experts, leaders, and participants who joined us at the World Justice Forum to the broader rule of law community, and intend for these resources to continue to bolster the work of building a movement to reduce the justice gap and realize justice for all.
