Ylva L. Hartmann is a Legal Adviser leading ILAC’s thematic work on access to justice. She serves as ILAC’s focal point for customary and informal justice and led ILAC's reporting and recommendations around safeguarding access to justice during the Covid-19 pandemic. Ms. Hartmann has over ten years of experience working on rule of law, human rights and humanitarian law issues, mostly focusing on Latin America but also the Maghreb and South Asia. She has extensive field experience and maintains particular expertise in the prohibition against torture. Before joining ILAC, Ms. Hartmann worked for the International Committee of the Red Cross, the World Organisation against Torture and the Swedish Foundation for Human Rights.
