Thumbiko Msiska is a Public Health practitioner who has over 20 years of experience working in social development at community, district, national, and global policy levels. Thumbiko has spent the past 18 years working with the marginalized to ensure their voice is translated to policy conversations and has advocated for the responsiveness of powerholders. Thumbiko is a pioneer of CARE’s Community Score Card (CSC) approach developed in Malawi. The Score Card is a social approach that brings together power holders and right holders in conversation in order to jointly analyze service delivery and utilization, with the intention of identifying the challenges encountered and in order to co-create solutions, which are jointly implemented. Thumbiko’s role has been key in the development of digital applications in social accountability, like the development of the Community Score Card app, remote application of the Community Score Card using a digital platform, Citizen Datahub that pools together social accountability data from various tools into a platform/repository where analysis and reports can be generated to inform policy decision makers on feedback from citizens.
