Shahid provides overall technical leadership and direction to inform policy and drive the reform agenda in the justice sector. His role includes engendering political commitment and facilitating support for the implementation of the Government of Sierra Leone’s Justice Sector Reform Strategy and Investment Plan. Shahid is the Chairman of the Child Justice Working Group (CJWG). The CJWG aims to provide a platform to track implementation and coordinate policy advocacy with key political stakeholders on child justice issues. Since 2017, Shahid has represented the justice sector through participating at various international forums. He participated in the development of the World Justice Forum Report in 2019. Shahid has also worked on the UN Sustainable Development Goal 16, coordinating the Voluntary National Review (VNR) and participating at the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development in New York. He has worked on access to justice initiatives with the Pathfinders for Peace, Just and Inclusive Societies. Shahid is a Commonwealth scholar and attended the Manchester Business School, where he obtained a Specialist Master’s degree in Finance and Economics. At Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, Shahid obtained a First-Class Bachelor of Economics. He has over 12 years’ work experience in the Private, Public, and Justice Sectors with expertise in Policy Development, Justice and Public Sector Governance and Business Finance.
