Nicolás Marugán Zalba is the Deputy Director General for Equal Treatment and Ethnic Diversity. In the past, he has served as an elected member of the Committee for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination of the United Nations and the Director of the Spanish Observatory of Racism and Xenophobia among other roles. He has worked in the areas of immigration and human rights, labor, and housing for more than 20 years. He graduated with a law degree from Complutense University of Madrid, business studies degree from University of London, and a Masters in International Solidarity Action in Europe from Carlos III University of Madrid.
