Marhijn Visser is Deputy Director International Affairs at VNO-NCW and MKB-Nederland, the two largest employer associations in the Netherlands. He is responsible for trade policy, sanctions, geopolitics and responsible business conduct. Previously, he was Deputy Permanent Representative to the WTO in Geneva and Head of the Economic Department of the Dutch Mission in Geneva. Before that, he was Private Secretary to the Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Deputy Head of the Executive Office of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs. Mr Visser studied economic public law in Utrecht, the Netherlands. As a specialist in Dutch and European competition law – and its international equivalent WTO-law – Mr Visser is very much interested in the interaction between government and the private sector.
