Christine Kandie is a peace ambassador and an Indigenous, disabled woman leader of the Endorois Indigenous Community of Kenya. She is a strong human rights defender advocating for the rights of the Endorois community with special focus on the rights of indigenous women and persons with disabilities both at a local, traditional, regional, and international level. Christine is a former Indigenous fellow of 2017 and was a senior fellow deployed at the Kenya country office during 2020. Her special focus has been on Endorois women’s land rights through her work as Director of the Endorois Indigenous Women Empowerment Network (EIWEN). Christine is strongly for the inclusion of women in community activities and for the reviewing of policy and legal framework implementation to ensure gender equity.
