Allyson Maynard-Gibson QC, a known advocate for the rights of women and children and an expert in governance, restructuring, and rebranding of organizations, served twice as Attorney-General and Minister of Legal Affairs of The Bahamas. While she served as Attorney-General and Minister of Legal Affairs, great strides were made in access to justice, especially through the use of technology, focus on people, data based decision making, and simplification of systems for access to justice. Allyson was a member of the Task Force that produced, in 2019, the “Justice of All” Report. In 2018, she served as a member of the first ever People’s Tribunal on Economic Crime in South Africa. In 2019, Allyson took a sabbatical at Harvard’s Advanced Leadership Initiative. She has served as an elected member and as a Senator in the Bahamian Parliament. Currently, she is a Consultant to Clement T. Maynard & Company, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of University of The Bahamas, a member of the Justice leadership Group, Assistant Director of International Trends and Services of The Links, Incorporated and she works with several NGOs to broaden concepts of justice to include people centered justice, social justice, and access to justice.
