Saskia Bruines has been deputy mayor for Culture and ICT in Amsterdam for several years. Until 2006 she was active as a council member. After 5 years as deputy mayor (in Leidschendam-Voorburg – near The Hague) she is deputy mayor for Education, Knowledge Economy and International Affairs in The Hague since 2017. Saskia considers the consequences and opportunities of digitization for The Hague - as a city of ‘Peace, Justice and Security’ - very important. This is one of the main themes of the municipality of The Hague.
