The CEELI Institute

Our organizational commitment is to work tirelessly to preserve and strengthen judicial independence in countries where it is under attack. There is no real access to justice when judicial independence is compromised and when judges are subservient to state interests or to the directions of state actors, whether explicit, inferred or perceived. Citizens must have confidence that their cases will be heard and decided by impartial judicial officers. CEELI works to identify and call attention to infringements on judicial independence, whatever the source, and to empower judges and civil society actors to effectively respond to such infringements.
