Jonathan Osei Owusu is the Founder and Executive Director of the POS Foundation, a leading Human Rights Civil Society Organization (CSO) in Ghana. With over 16 years experience in the field, he is known for his expertise and innovation in Policy Reform, Criminal Justice and Human Rights advocacy; He facilitates the state-led intervention, 'Justice For All Program’ for Remand/Pre-trial Detainees/Prisoners, towards Prison Decongestion. Jonathan serves as Convener of the Ghana CSOs Platform under the United Nations Universal Periodic Review (UN UPR). He is also the Vice Chairman of the Ghana Human Rights NGOs Forum and a Steering Committee Member of Ghana’s Coalition on the Right To Information. A trained Paralegal, he has received education in Development Leadership and Human Rights Advocacy and received several recognition, including a commendation from the President of the Republic of Ghana (H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo) for his humanitarian, Justice Sector Reform and Human Right work. He has authored and published 2 Books and many articles centered on Youth Development and Behavioral Change. Jonathan has also facilitated programs on the promotion of Cross-Border Trade, Rule of Law and the use of technology in the West African Sub-Region.
