A.J.A.J. (Jan) Eijsbouts, former General Counsel and Director of Legal Affairs of Dutch multinational AkzoNobel, is Professor Emeritus of Corporate Social Responsibility and Law and Professorial Fellow at the Institute for Corporate Law, Governance and Innovation Policies at the Faculty of Law, Maastricht University. Jan is past chairman of the Chief Legal Officers Round Tables Europe (now the European General Counsel Association) and North America. At the International Bar Association he served as Co-Chair of the Corporate Counsel Forum and the CSR Committee and as Council member of the Legal Practice Division. He was Chairman of the World Legal Forum Foundation (The Hague), which established the PRIME Finance Foundation and, in cooperation with Prof. John Ruggie as Special Representative of the UN SG on the issue of Business and Human Rights, Access Facility Foundation. He is Project Manager and member of the Working Group of the Hague Rules on Business and Human Rights Arbitration (chaired by former ICJ Judge Prof. Bruno Simma) and Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Mentor Group (Boston). He is an accredited mediator at CEDR (London) and the PRIME Finance Foundation (The Hague).
