When is the World Justice Forum?

The Forum will take place May 30 - June 3, 2022 at the World Forum in The Hague, Netherlands and online. We encourage in-person participants to arrive in The Hague on Sunday, May 29 or early on Monday, May 30 in order to take part in our welcome program beginning the afternoon of May 30. The conference will run all day on Tuesday, May 31, Wednesday, June 1 and Thursday, June 2. On Friday June 3 participants can attend one of three side events hosted by Forum Partners.

What will the agenda look like?

The World Justice Project is creating a collaborative agenda together with its partners, based around the themes of Access to Justice, Anti-Corruption and Open Government, and Equal Rights and Non-Discrimination. The program will include dynamic plenary discussions, interactive working sessions, the Justice Expo exhibition hall, off-site visits to explore local initiatives in The Hague, presentation of the World Justice Challenge finalists and winners, cultural activities including music, dance and cartoonists, and much more. What is a hybrid conference?

The World Justice Forum will be held in a hybrid format that will entail both in-person and online interactive meetings, plenaries, and working sessions. For those joining online, the Forum will include opportunities for participation in live-streamed plenaries and online-only working sessions, as well as options for virtual networking with anyone registered for the event, including in-person participants. Plenary sessions also will be recorded for later viewing. In-person participants will be able to join all aspects of the program in The Hague, including networking and cultural events, off-site visits, hands-on interactive working sessions, and the Justice Expo arena.

How do I use the World Justice Forum App?

The World Justice Forum App

The World Justice Forum 2022 app is now live! The Forum app lets you view the full agenda, connect with other participants and exhibitors, review and personalize your schedule, explore the venue map, and watch live-streamed sessions right from the app. 

All online Forum content will take place on the Forum app. In order to access any online content, including watching plenaries virtually or participating online in working sessions, you must use the app.

You may access the app in either of the following ways:

  1. Download the app to your smartphone or tablet: To download the app, search for “World Justice Forum” in the App Store or Google Play on your smartphone or tablet. Log in to the app using the same email you used to register for the Forum (you will need to create and enter a new password). You will then see the event “World Justice Forum 2022”, which you can click on and enter. 
  2. Access the app through your web browser: On your desktop or laptop computer, visit: https://ve.attendify.com/index/s2b5iw/aoa872p/. Log in using the same email you used to register for the Forum (you will need to create and enter a new password. If you have already downloaded and entered the app, please use the same login information). 

Please note that you must be registered for the Forum in order to access the app.

How to Attend Sessions Using the Forum App

Throughout the Forum there will be dozens of sessions for both in-person and online participants to choose from. Please see information below for how to access these sessions using the app:

  • Plenary Sessions and Online Working Sessions: all plenary sessions and online working sessions can be accessed directly through the app. To join, simply click on the name of the session in the “Online Schedule” tab of the app. When it is time for the session, a Zoom button will appear. Click “join” to enter. You will have the option to launch the session directly in the app or in a separate Zoom window. All plenaries and online working sessions will be accessible to all registered participants; signing up for these sessions is not necessary. 
  • In-Person Working Sessions: If you are participating in the Forum in-person, we strongly recommend that you use the app to sign up for in-person working sessions in advance. Some in-person working sessions will have limited space, so signing up for these sessions in advance ensures you will get a spot for your preferred sessions. There are two ways you can sign up: 
    • Sign up directly through the World Justice Forum app: See instructions above for downloading the app to your smartphone or tablet. Once you are in the app, navigate to the “Schedule” tab. To sign up for a session, click the “+” button beside it. This will add the session to your personalized schedule, which you can view in the “My Schedule” tab at the bottom of the screen.
    • Sign up through email: You will have received an email (at the same email address you used to register for the Forum) from Attendify inviting you to sign up for working sessions. Please click through this message and follow the prompts in your browser window to sign up for your selected working sessions.
  • Off-site Working Sessions: On the afternoon of June 1, Forum participants will have the opportunity to attend working sessions on the premises of partner organizations throughout The Hague. Signing up in advance is required to attend an off-site working session. Please refer to in-person working session instructions above for how to sign up. 

Will language interpretation be provided?

The primary language of the Forum is English. All plenary sessions will offer Arabic, French, Russian and Spanish interpretation for both in-person and online participants. Working sessions that are exclusively online will offer French and Spanish interpretation, while most hybrid working sessions will be offered only in English. 

What is the Forum’s COVID-19 policy?

The World Justice Project and its partners are committed to ensuring the World Justice Forum provides a safe and healthy environment for all participants. In keeping with this commitment, all in-person registered participants will be asked to show proof of ONE of the following upon arrival to the World Forum venue:

  • Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination:
    • “Full vaccination" means that 14 days have passed since receiving the final dose of a vaccine approved by the World Health Organization. The final dose is the second shot of a two-dose vaccine, or one shot of a single-dose vaccine. OR
  • Certificate of recovery from COVID-19 within the past 90 days. OR
  • A negative PCR or rapid antigen test result within the past 48 hours.

In-person registered participants who arrive at the Forum and cannot provide at least one of the above will be asked to take a COVID-19 rapid test on site and display a negative result before they may enter the conference. Participants who cannot provide any of the above and choose not to take a COVID-19 rapid test will be denied entry to the World Forum venue and all in-person Forum events, and invited instead to participate in the Forum online. In any such case, no refund for the price of in-person ticket will be issued.

All in-person registered participants are encouraged to wear their own approved KN95 or N95 masks on site whenever they are in close quarters without social distancing. There will be a limited supply of masks available on site.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

The World Justice Project has adopted the following refund policy for its World Justice Forum 2022:

  • Please note that all sales are final, and refunds will only be permitted in limited circumstances, as detailed below.
     
  • In the event that you purchase an in-person ticket but are unable to attend in-person, you must notify the World Justice Project in writing no later than April 30, 2022, at [email protected]. You will be eligible for a refund equivalent to the difference between the in-person and online rate for the ticket category you selected. No refunds will be issued after April 30, 2022.
     
  • Refunds will not be issued for online tickets.
     
  • In the event of a major outbreak of COVID-19, or any unforeseen event that would require the World Justice Forum 2022 to become a fully virtual event, all in-person registrants will receive a refund equivalent to the difference between the in-person and online rate for the ticket they selected. No action will be needed on your part.
     
  • In the event of a cancellation, postponement or rescheduling of the World Justice Forum 2022, you will have the option between transferring your ticket for the new dates or cancelling your ticket and obtaining a refund. The World Justice Forum 2022 team will reach out to you with details about these options and how to request your refund or transfer your ticket.
     
  • All refunds will be processed within approximately 1 month following the World Justice Forum 2022. 

Is funding available to help me with costs?

No scholarships are available at this time. Participants are responsible for their own registration, travel, accommodations, and other costs associated with attending the World Justice Forum.

Can I bring someone along with me to the World Justice Forum?

Participation at the Forum is by individual ticket only. We do not offer guest tickets. If you would like to bring someone with you, please have them register and buy a ticket separately.

How do I get to the conference from the airport in Amsterdam?

The World Justice Project is organizing airport shuttles that will run at various times on Monday, May 30th. A volunteer will be present at each airport terminal to escort you to the rendez-vous point where you will be able to board a shuttle to the Novotel hotel (located at the World Forum venue), the Marriott hotel, or the Ibis Den Haag hotel. As an alternative to conference shuttles, convenient and economical trains run throughout the day and evening directly from Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport to the Centraal or Den Haag HS (Holland Spoor) train stations in The Hague. The Dutch Railways (NS) Intercity train runs every 20-30 minutes. Tickets can be purchased at the airport station. This option costs €10 and takes approximately 30 minutes. Each traveler is responsible for their own public or private transit expenses unless alternative arrangements have been made previously with WJP or their travel sponsor.

I am travelling from a country that requires a visa to enter the Netherlands. Can WJP provide an invitation letter for my application?

We are happy to provide invitation letters to support your visa application. To request, please contact [email protected]. Write "Visa Invitation Letter (YOUR NAME)" in the subject line. In the body of your email, provide your Full Name as it appears on your passport (kindly note your family name in UPPERCASE LETTERS), Date of Birth (day/month/year), Passport Number and Nationality so we can produce the letter. Visa applications are the sole responsibility of the participant and cannot be processed or paid by the World Justice Project. 

What is the dress code for the World Justice Forum?

The dress code is business for all Forum events. Culturally traditional attire is also appropriate.

What meals will be served during the World Justice Forum?

Lunch will be provided on May 31, June 1, and June 2. Coffee, tea, and snacks will also be provided throughout the day. Please be sure to note any dietary restrictions during your registration, or send us an email at [email protected].

What is the World Justice Forum's Code of Conduct?

The World Justice Project (WJP) is committed to an environment free of harassment, discrimination, and threatening or disrespectful behavior at the World Justice Forum and any WJP-sponsored events. It is important to us that all World Justice Forum attendees are able to participate fully throughout the program. Help us make this a welcoming and respectful space that is physically and psychologically safe. We will not tolerate harassment in any form at the Forum. We reserve the right to remove any person who violates our Code of Conduct from attending current or future WJP-hosted events, and to cancel an individual’s registration without refund. All participants attending the World Justice Forum are subject to applicable law, including Dutch law.

At the World Justice Forum, both in-person and online, you agree to:

  • Look out for one another as part of this community-oriented environment.
  • Respect the boundaries of other attendees. Seek consent before initiating physical contact.
  • Avoid aggressively pitching your own cases, services, or products.
  • Respect confidentiality requests by fellow participants.

We will not tolerate the following behavior at the World Justice Forum:

  • Sexual harassment of any kind, including unwelcome sexual attention or unwelcome physical contact.
  • Disruptive behavior, destruction of property, drinking alcohol excessively, stalking, or tracking anyone.
  • Abuse of power (including abuses related to position, wealth, race, or gender).
  • Homophobic, racist, sexist, or other language or behavior that discriminates against a group or class of people.
  • Violent or threatening behavior.
