Mrs Rachna Ramsurn has been working as Analyst/Economist at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development (MOFED) since June 2002. Currently she also is Cluster Leader of the Internal Communication, Public Communication on Economic & Financial policy and Research Team to ensure effective communication within and outside the Ministry and to undertake research on selected topics.

During her term at MOFED she has worked in several sectors like Environment, Rural Development, Youth, Sports and Housing. She has worked extensively in the formulation of government policies, amendments in regulations and acts to reflect agreed policies, development of frameworks of operation, putting up projects and following up on project implementation in social and environmental sectors and providing guidance to planning and budgeting. Her experience in public speaking is wide-ranging as she have participated in several workshops and seminars organized by Global Environment Facility(GEF), UNDP, UNEP and other international organisations where she have delivered speeches/made presentations on environment-related and social topics. She has also conducted several training sessions with public officers.

Prior to joining the public service, between 1999 to June 2002, she worked as Financial Analyst at the State Bank of Mauritius Ltd, one of the major banks in Mauritius.

She holds a BA (Hon) degree in Economics from the University of Delhi, India and a Masters in Business Administration with specialization in project management from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia.
