Decentralization, Human Rights, and Local Governance: improving data systems and collection processes in Pakistan
The Approach
The project aims to strengthen the government's capacity to report on its national and international human rights commitments through strategic shifts towards digital technologies for data collection and reporting on human rights. UNDP Pakistan capacitates government counterparts on the Strategic Framework on streamlining human rights data with substantial inputs from civil society, national human rights institutions and guided by the OHCHR’s Human Rights Approach to Data. This UNDP initiative brings federal and provincial stakeholders to work together towards protecting and promoting the rights of the most vulnerable through transparent and inclusive governance guided by evidenced backed data collection and analysis.
