It advocates for the reform of discriminatory laws to ensure that women's rights are enforced. It provides free advice and representation for victims of domestic violence, and offers training and sensitization for stakeholders, and the public.

It is a governmental organization that hears and processes complaints of mal-administration by any Federal Government Agency.
