Founded in 1959, it is dedicated to empowering women and girls in Tanzania and promoting a fully inclusive world where justice, peace and security, freedom, human dignity, good governance, health for all, and care for the environment are promoted and sustained through women's leadership.

It promotes a culture of peace by providing spaces for participation where youths and adolescents are trained to carry out political advocacy in decision making processes at the municipal and national levels. Their areas of work include sexual and reproductive rights, prevention of teenage pregnancies, HIV/AIDS education, and nutrition, to name a few.

Debate and discussion of current issues related with the rights and freedoms protected by the Constitution are facilitated through their Constitutional Cafes.

The Women's Studies Research Centre is an independent and interdisciplinary initiative founded in 1994 at the University of Hong Kong. It promotes research and dialogue in areas such as gender, cross-cultural awareness, sexuality, and policy making.

It is a peace building initiative to prevent and mitigate conflicts during elections. It mobilizes women and youth to ensure their active participation in the electoral process. Through observation and the analysis of data and information from the field, it provides early alerts to elections related incidents.
