Brittany Kauffman is a Senior Director at IAALS, the Institute for the Advancement of the American Legal System. In this role, she oversees IAALS’ projects, research, and strategy, while also leading IAALS’ civil justice reform and judiciary efforts at both the state and federal level. Kauffman has worked with state and federal courts, state and federal rules committees, civil justice task forces, access to justice commissions, and bar organizations through the United States, serving as a facilitator, expert liaison, and consultant on civil justice and judiciary reform efforts. She currently serves as a member of the Legal Services Corporation Rural Justice Task Force and the Colorado Access to Justice Commission. She provides legal and empirical research and analysis, and supports the development of recommendations and implementation—all toward the goal of ensuring access to justice for all. Kauffman joined IAALS in the spring of 2012 after having practiced with the law firm of Arnold & Porter, LLP. She also served as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Paul J. Kelly, Jr., of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
