Paul Fisher, Chief Development Officer, joined WJP in September 2019. Prior to that, Fisher worked with the American Bar Association (ABA) Rule of Law Initiative, as the Director of Strategic Partnerships and Institutional Advancement. Fisher practiced international trade, commercial and maritime law for nine years in both the private and public sector. He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Jamaica in 1999 as a legal foreign service officer, focusing on World Trade Organization disputes and the negotiations of the Free Trade Area of the Americas. Fisher spent 13 years with the Organization of American States in Washington D.C., as a legal and economic specialist and Director of Strategic Partnerships and Development, focusing primarily on human rights and social and economic development programs in Latin America and the Caribbean.
In 2014, he worked as a consultant on resource development and building endowments for Viacom International (Special Advisor on Corporate Social Responsibility), CARICOM and Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency. In 2014, Fisher joined Georgetown University faculty as adjunct professor, for the master of science in foreign service program at Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service, teaching public and private partnerships and international development. Fisher’s degrees include: LL.B. (J.D. equivalent) from the University of the West Indies, Jamaica: Masters of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) - International Economics and Development, Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service.
