Laura is an economist and a lawyer from ITAM. Her interests include the interaction between law and economics, and empirical legal studies.
Prior to joining the World Justice Project, Laura worked as a Deputy Director at the Federal Telecommunications Institute, conducting economic and legal analysis to prevent anticompetitive practices. She also served as an adviser to the Deputy-Secretary of Finance, analyzing strategic national issues and key macroeconomic indicators. At ITAM, she has been a researcher assistant, helping to implement studies on litigation, settlement and access to labor justice. Finally, she has conducted microcredit and women-empowering projects in rural areas and has provided legal advice and represented low-income defendants in court.
