Jaya Khetarpal joined the World Justice Project in August 2019 as the Special Assistant to the Executive Director and Engagement Team. Jaya is a recent graduate of Tufts University where she earned her B.A in International Relations and Political Science and completed a thesis comparing the immigration and integration systems of Germany and the United States. Prior to joining WJP, Jaya worked at the Center for Information and Research on Civic Engagement and Learning (CIRCLE) as a Research Assistant. In this position, she collected and analyzed data on civic engagement and youth political involvement and contributed to advocacy and partnership efforts. Jaya has also completed internships at UNICEF, joining their team during the launch of their #ENDviolenceinschools campaign, and at the International Institute of New England, helping refugees and immigrants integrate into the Massachusetts economy and social culture. She is passionate about human rights, social justice, and democracy promotion in Latin America and has a strong interest in migration and democracy development studies.
