Emily Youatt supports private and public development and fundraising efforts in her capacity as Senior Development Associate with World Justice Project. Prior to her work with WJP, Emily held positions over five years in program management, development and communications with Mercy Corps in Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. She has led development and management efforts in disaster risk reduction, refugee integration, maternal and child health, and economic development/making markets work for the poor. She has successfully led and supported fundraising endeavors with USAID, ECHO, START Fund, the U.S. State Department, UNDP, EBRD, and others.
Emily earned her Master’s Degree in Anthropology from the University of Chicago where she studied informal market systems and the integration of non-citizens in Switzerland. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Reed College in Portland, Oregon where she conducted primary ethnographic research on cultural and linguistic revitalization of First Nations groups in the Alaska/Yukon borderlands.
