Kate Canavan joined the World Justice Project in May 2020 as an Engagement and Advocacy intern for the summer. She will graduate from Boston College in May 2021 with a B.A. in Political Science and Economics. In the fall of 2019 she spent a semester at the University of Amsterdam studying European politics. At Boston College she has been heavily involved with the Model United Nations team by traveling to compete at conferences and organizing a conferences for high school students. She has also represented the class of 2021 as a student government senator for three years.
Before joining the WJP, Kate completed various internships in the field of politics. She worked for the business development teams at the technology company Quorum in Washington, D.C. and later Brussels, Belgium. Her work was mainly focused on software products for organizations working in international public affairs and EU public affairs. She also worked on the community partnerships team of a research organization called Analyst Institute, which conducts randomized control trials to test the effectiveness of campaign tactics for progressive causes. She also worked in the office of U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal and for the coordinated campaign of the democratic party in her home state of Connecticut.
