Jessica Sawadogo joined the World Justice Project in September 2017, and provides research support to the Rule of Law Index team. Prior to joining the WJP, she taught English in Togo as a Peace Corps volunteer, where she focused in particular on women’s rights. While in Togo, Ms. Sawadogo also worked on various projects to promote and improve girls’ education, women’s health, and household food security in the region. Prior to her Peace Corps service, Ms. Sawadogo worked as a teacher in the French Ministry of Education and interned with Catholic Relief Services. Ms. Sawadogo holds a dual B.A. in African History and French Civilization Studies from Brown University, where she was also the recipient of the Greenberg Prize for Excellence in French Studies. She is fluent in French and has a working knowledge of Kotokoli and Haitian Creole.
